Globally and domestically, more strict regulation and antitrust enforcement on digital platforms are demanded by academics and competition policy authorities. This paper aims to examine from economics point of view the supporting arguments and institutional arrangements targeted toward digital platforms. It critically analyze a number of New-Brandeisian arguments. Strong ex-ante regulation proposals in Europe and anti-competitive conducts by platforms will be discussed. Based on this discussion, we propose policy implications to establish dynamic domestic digital market and competitive domestic platforms. Main message is that most negative arguments about digital platforms should not be taken for granted.
